A discussion of Meine Verletzte Generation: Wie der Staat uns alle verrät (2026). This event is hosted by the Student Advisory Board of the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
Carla Hinrich’s book Meine Verletzte Generation is a powerful and unsettling testimony of how fragile our democracy has become. At the same time, it is an urgent appeal to actively exercise and defend our fundamental rights — while we still can.
The event will open with a short introduction by Lisa Voigt, a PhD candidate at the Hertie School’s Centre for Fundamental Rights, whose research focuses on state repression against climate and environmental activists. Carla Hinrichs will then present her book and reflect on her activism and its broader implications for democratic participation.
The event will be moderated by Katharina Kölbl, first-year MIA student at the Hertie School and member of the Student Advisory Board.
This event is hosted by the Student Advisory Board of the Centre for Fundamental Rights in association with the Centre and is part of the Spotlight on Scholarship event series.
