GovTech Startup Monitor 2026: How can startups make the state more innovative?
Germany’s public administration is facing considerable pressure to innovate, driven by digital transformation, skills shortages, rising citizen expectations, and ongoing debates around digital sovereignty. GovTech startups can play a key role in addressing these challenges by bringing in new technologies, faster development cycles, and fresh approaches. Yet questions remain as to how effectively collaboration between startups and the public sector is working in practice.
The GovTech Startup Monitor 2026, by the Startup Association and Accenture in cooperation with the Centre for Digital Governance at the Hertie School, provides up-to-date data and analysis on the GovTech sector in Germany. It examines recent progress, identifies structural barriers, and explores how both startups and the public sector can strengthen their collaboration.
The event will take place in German at the Hertie School on 29 June.
