How Strong Is Europe? Albania’s Path to the EU

A public fishbowl discussion

Albania has opened all chapters of its EU accession talks and wants to conclude them by 2027. That is ambitious, for Tirana and for the EU. What does Albania still have to deliver? Is the Union itself ready to grow? And what does enlargement mean for the people who will live with it, especially the young generation?

Earlier that day, young Europeans will have negotiated Albania’s accession in a simulation. In the evening, they bring their results to the discussion and put their questions to guests from politics and diplomacy. The format is a fishbowl: the circle stays open, and anyone in the audience can take a free chair and join in.
