Before the working day begins, there will once again be a concise presentation on a current EU topic. Start the day with us, fresh croissants, and coffee. In-person only, places are limited.
Europe’s migration policy is caught in a conflict of objectives: tougher borders on the one hand, acute shortage of skilled workers on the other. Isolation and talent acquisition at the same time – this is increasingly becoming a strategic contradiction.
Which course is realistic? What does a look at different models show – for example, Spain’s labor market-oriented approach compared to more restrictive strategies? And what will Europe decide: Fortress Europe or a skilled labor offensive?
Judith Kohlenberger, migration researcher at WU Vienna and Affiliate Policy Fellow at the Jacques Delors Centre, will discuss this with Marcus Engler, research associate at the DeZIM Institute, at the next EU to go breakfast.
The format: The topics and analyses will be presented in 20 minutes, followed by a ten-minute discussion. The event will end at 9:00 a.m. after only 30 minutes.
- 8:30 a.m.: Expert input
- 8:50 a.m.: Questions and answers
