Building on five and a half years of archived data from Meta’s partner-publisher lists, WHAT TO FIX found that Meta continued – and in some cases initiated – revenue-sharing partnerships with RT, Sputnik, and other entities subject to EU sanctions, even months after those sanctions were introduced. The investigation raises serious questions about Meta’s compliance with EU restrictions and highlights the broader need for greater oversight of monetisation programmes on social media platforms.
