Kink at Pride has long been a contested issue in Germany and beyond. As a historian, Ben Miller has researched the early history of kink communities. After a brief introduction, Ben and Daniel will discuss the political character of kink, the diversity of its histories, and its place within Pride, past and present. The audience is then invited to join the discussion, ask questions and share their perspectives.
Ben Miller is a writer and historian, co-host of the hit podcast Bad Gays and co-author of Bad Gays: A Homosexual History. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Schwules Museum in Berlin. His next book is a biography of Rudi Gernreich, who was one of the two degrees of separation between Karl Marx and Cher.
